Job description

Registered Massage Therapist

We are looking for a registered massage therapist to join our growing mobile practice on a permanent part-time basis. MLPT has a well-established client base and available caseload. We make a commitment to our therapists that when working with us you will have a consistent client base that allows you to create a schedule that works for you. This position is available September 2024.

Job Summary

As a massage therapist at MLMP you will,

• Conduct 45–90-minute massage treatments
• Provide chair-based massage treatments for corporate clients/wellness days
• Have 30 minutes of travel time included in your hours for each client seen in a day.
• Provide treatment to individuals in various home environments including: private residences, workplaces, assisted living facilities, and personal care settings
• Assess patient condition and determine appropriate treatment plans
• Ensure proper storage, maintenance and disinfection of equipment
• Ensure proper documentation in a timely manner and safe, appropriate storage of personal health information
• Confer with allied health professionals and patient families, as appropriate
• Be required to carry large equipment including a treatment table or be flexible to work with individuals where they are most comfortable/safe in their environment

The desired candidate will possess all or most of the following characteristics:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to unique requirements of each patient and environment
• Willingness to learn new concepts and techniques in accordance with current clinical best practice recommendations
• Strong time management skills
• Comfortable with collaboration with other disciplines and demonstration of professional judgement in practice
• Knowledge and understanding of the physiological, social, cultural and economic aspects of client care
• Physically able to carry a treatment table
• A passion for learning, growth and working with people

Required Credentials

• Must be registered and in good standing with MTAM, NHPC or RMTSMB.
• Must hold individual liability insurance
• Require a valid Manitoba Driver’s License
• Provision of current Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment
• Up to date CPR certification
• Experience of more than two years as a practicing therapist or additional training in cupping, acupuncture, lymphatic or pre-natal massage are considered assets.
