Shenan Hartwell

R.Ac., RMT

Shenan is a Registered Massage Therapist, a Registered Acupuncturist (CTCMPAO) and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) from the University of Manitoba. After spending over a decade living in Toronto, working in the arts (music and TV), Shenan returned to Winnipeg to study massage therapy. Shenan always had an interest in healthcare and a fascination with the eastern philosophies. She attended the Massage Therapy College of Manitoba for her massage therapy training and began her massage therapy practice in 2002. Her intrigue with Eastern medicine led her to begin studying Acupuncture in 2008. Since completing her acupuncture diploma, Shenan has immersed herself in the study of many different philosophies and approaches of acupuncture and healthcare techniques with the goal working on bridging the knowledge and respect of the ancient traditions yet incorporating the more modern styles of treatment when applicable. Shenan’s practice and experience have brought her to focus on the integration of complementary therapies, to look at the body with a holistic approach. Thus, her approach to treatment is to incorporate a diverse range of modalities from Acupuncture and Massage Therapy, including cupping massage, meridian theory, myofascial, injury rehabilitation, cranio-sacral, visceral techniques amongst many others. It is through this diverse training she has strived to combine the Eastern roots and techniques with the Western approaches. Shenan is a Director and Instructor for the College of Acupuncture and Therapeutics, an instructor at Evolve College of Massage Therapy and a frequent presenter at various seminars for fellow healthcare professionals and the general public.
